Meet the Targaryens

Emmy D'Arcy returns as Rhaenyra Targaryen, the eldest child of King Viserys I and his first wife, Queen Aemma of House Arryn. Matt Smith also reprises his role as Prince Daemon Targaryen, Rhaenyra's uncle and the younger brother of King Viserys. Paddy Considine continues as King Viserys I Targaryen, the fifth Targaryen king to rule Westeros. Rhys Ifans joins the cast as Otto Hightower, the Hand of the King and father of Queen Alicent. Fabien Frankel plays Ser Criston Cole, a skilled knight and the sworn protector of Princess Rhaenyra.

Meet the Hightowers

Olivia Cooke portrays Queen Alicent Hightower, the second wife of King Viserys I and the mother of Aegon II Targaryen. Eve Best plays Princess Rhaenys Targaryen, the cousin of King Viserys and the wife of Lord Corlys Velaryon. Steve Toussaint returns as Lord Corlys Velaryon, the Master of Ships and the head of House Velaryon.

Graham McTavish joins the cast as Ser Harrold Westerling, the Lord Commander of the Kingsguard. Bill Paterson plays Lord Lyman Beesbury, the Master of Whisperers and a member of the Small Council.
